Insurance applications & digital customer services
Team Lead, Enterprise Software Applications · Deputy Manager
The environment
Business-critical insurance systems serving internal teams and customers: core business applications, customer portals, the Marine Portal, web forms, mobile applications, and claims automation.
My contribution
Led development, operations, and maintenance; translated stakeholder needs into requirements and architecture; integrated enterprise and third-party systems; coordinated delivery, testing, deployment, and support.
Delivery & ownership
Designed reusable secure APIs, carried out unit and integration testing, coordinated IAT and UAT, addressed incidents against service agreements, and supported audit and regulatory compliance.
99.9% system uptime achieved and sustained through optimisation, proactive monitoring, and improvements to legacy systems.
Also contributed to IT budget planning, governance, cross-functional coordination, and supervisory responsibilities.
Palm-P loan & grant application platform
Lead, Enterprise Software Engineer · Data protection responsibilities
Application delivery
Led the redesign and enhancement of the Loan Application Portal. Modified existing application journeys, added five new application types, and created three Lagos CARES grant application forms within Palm-P.
Developed requirements in C# and PHP, improved website functionality and user experience, and restructured two LSETF websites for SEO and usability.
The wider IT remit
Implemented and managed ERP capabilities across HR, procurement, and finance; maintained SharePoint intranet content, document management, reporting, and departmental workflows.
Managed and troubleshot test and production Windows Servers and databases, automated deployments and maintenance, provided end-user guidance, supported network infrastructure, and reinforced data protection policies.
Core banking & savings product APIs
Developed RESTful APIs in C# to improve banking system interoperability, including endpoints supporting savings products. Worked with front-end and mobile teams to define API specifications and integration contracts.
Published contracts and integration documentation through team wikis, built reusable code, and contributed to data storage design and Agile delivery.
Financial platform enhancement & integration
Maintained and enhanced financial platforms for FCMB using C#, Java, and ASP.NET MVC. Integrated responsive front-end interfaces with secure RESTful APIs and contributed to sprint planning, development, and delivery.
Internal enterprise tools & IVY chatbot
Attendance & Visitor Management Systems
Built internal enterprise tools supporting attendance and visitor management. Worked on debugging, patches, performance optimisation, and stability across internal banking applications.
Conversational systems & technical writing
Enhanced the IVY chatbot and authored technical and API documentation to make systems easier to maintain and knowledge easier to transfer.
Full-stack enterprise engineering & ISMS implementation
Developed and supported enterprise applications using Java, C#, Node.js, and Next.js. Managed enhancements, resolved technical issues, and supported continuous system improvement across the software lifecycle.
Led ISO 27001 ISMS implementation work, connecting application delivery with information security, confidentiality, governance, and business requirements.

IT audits & regulatory engagement
Coordinated technology-related activities for NAICOM regulatory audits, EY and Deloitte IT audits, and internal IT audits.
Supported evidence requests, control reviews, audit observations, technical documentation, and follow-up actions with the relevant IT and security stakeholders.
Findings closure & access controls
Followed up open IT risk items and corrective actions, including removal of access for exited staff, improvements to account-deactivation SOPs, and access-control remediation.
Worked with IT/security stakeholders on vulnerability assessments and VAPT observations, remediation activities, control documentation, and audit-related technical fixes.
Recovery readiness & service risk
Supported disaster recovery exercises and cross-functional readiness activities, working with relevant teams on recovery and continuity expectations.
Contributed to maintenance planning, governance, budget decisions, and vendor/service-risk processes alongside responsibility for critical applications.
Data Protection Officer & IT audit support
Served as Data Protection Officer alongside the Lead, Enterprise Software Engineer role. Supported data-protection compliance, privacy controls, and the responsible handling of sensitive information.
Participated in IT audit activities through control reviews, provision of technical evidence, and follow-up on identified issues. Applied deployment controls, maintenance practices, and cross-department support to loan application and ERP platforms.
Controlled change & incident resolution
Investigated system incidents and environment-configuration issues, coordinated corrective fixes, and supported controlled application enhancements and releases. Contributed to technical documentation and adherence to organisational information-security and compliance requirements.
